Writing for Nonprofit and Social Impact-Driven Organizations
Your content needs are piling up—appeals, newsletters, proposals—not to mention the content you want to produce but can’t find the time to write.
And with more companies prioritizing sustainable impact, it’s more important than ever to develop content that sets you apart.
You wear a lot of hats, but creating every piece of content doesn’t need to be one.
What if you could entrust your content to someone who listens, can build strong relationships, and has the experience and skills to do it well?
I’m ready to jump in alongside you and your team whether you need an interview performed, proposal written, or content strategy created.
Nonprofit content must tell multiple stories. It lets your community know what you’re doing, why you’re doing it, and how. But most importantly, content can forge connections. It builds relationships—with the people you serve, your employees, your donors, and your neighbors.
And when your nonprofit creates content that connects, it moves people to act. To donate, to attend an event, to spread awareness. Authentic, relationship-based content can multiply your impact, helping you reach even more people and expand your mission.
What People Are Saying
“Meghan is a content guru. She is the first person that anybody at our organization asks for when it comes to any sort of digital writing […]. She is able to manage multiple brand voices at the same time and produce phenomenal content for each of them. She is my go-to before I start any project, and she's great at translating my print content into the most effective digital content. She was instrumental in our website rebuild, strategizing SEO, and working with the lead designer on all the content.”

Nonprofit Writing FAQs
-
Great question!
I prefer to work with my nonprofit clients either by:
Providing a set number of posts, newsletter(s), or emails per month.
Signing a three or six-month contract (with options to renew) for more in-depth and flexible content writing needs.
Do you need a different option? Let’s talk about it.
-
Yes, I’ve worked on a retainer basis and provided blog packages to clients.
That said, every client has different content needs and different budgets. I’d recommend filling out my contact form and noting you’re interested in either a blog package and/or a retainer option.
-
Totally fine. I’d recommend filling out my contact form and noting that you’re interested in content creation but still need to figure out what that means for your business. That’s why I’m here!
I’ll follow up with a Google form that asks a few questions to help me learn more about you, your current content, and your goals. Then we’ll go from there.
-
Here’s what my typical onboarding process looks like:
After you submit my contact form, I’ll send over a Google form with a few questions about your current content and content goals.
We’ll schedule a call to answer any lingering questions and discuss next steps.
Based on our conversation, I’ll send you a proposal* and, once we’ve worked through all the details of said proposal, a contract for each of us to sign so we’re both on the same page.
If you’re looking for a content writer to join an existing crew of freelancers or work alongside an in-house content team, just let me know. I’m happy to talk through what that looks like.
